"Don't treat me like an idiot!" or "I am not your mother"

Are you treating your partner/friend like an idiot, expecting to get away (or not) with a certain behaviour or trying to avoid making them feel important in your life? it could be that you are not holding yourself accountable for your actions and are hoping to get away with certain behviours. This can come from having experienced an inapropriate load of responsibility in earlier life. If you are noticing that, it is very possible youare projecting a relationship dynamic from the past (i.e. form caregiver) on to your present one.


In a healty relationship it i simportant to take responsibility for your actions and be accountable to ourselves. iN that way we treat ourselves and others with respect. In return we get respect from others too.
